This fun journal page is all about letting go. Don't overthink, Just let go.
This journal page was inspired by this months mood board (use flowers).

This page was made using some of the fantastic products from The Art and Soul Studio.

I started by using white gesso through two of my favourite stencils. Once dry i used Tim Holts Distress Paint colour Tattered rose and dry brushed it all over the page, making the gesso pop off the page.

I then used another of my favourite stencils with two fantastic Tim Holtz Distress Paint colours Mermaid lagoon and Mustard seed. As i stenciled i used a triangle design on the page. Putting pops of colour in a triangle shape on the page draws the eye around the page from the top, right to left.

Once dry i used a Delta Creative paint in Turquoise colour, splattering it in the same invisable triangle shape, slightly rotated from the underneath layer of colour. Before it dried i took a drinking straw to it blowing fantastic patterns in a fan motion all over the page.

Then using three different sized lids used Tim Holtz Distress Paint colour Seedless Grape on the rims of the lids creating large, medium and small sized circles. Then using water only painted in the large circles, then added Tim Holtz Distress Paint colour Broken China around the edges of the circles and allowed the colour ro bleed around the circles. I then did the same with the medium circles with the Seedless Grape and the same with small circles using Tim Holts Alcohol Ink in denim colour. Allowing it to dry naturally.

Once dry i painted rough white flower petals around the large blue circles, adding small white dots where i felt they were needed. I also made cross hatch marks using an old scrapper. Once dry i used the black pen roughly tracing around the petals and the face of the flower. I also circled dots of turquoise paint here and there and also made little cross marks all over the page. I drew in smaller petals around the small denim colour circles creating little flowers hiding amongst the large flowers.

I love a good quote. A good quote can change your mood and state of mind. I found this quote before starting this journal page. I absolutely took this quote on board with creating this page. Let it go, nature isn't always perfect and neither should art. I didn't overthink any of the design elements, i trusted in the process and just went with it.

This mixed media art journal page was inspired by the August mood board as well as my daughters favourite colour yellow.

These are the fantastic products i used to create this page. The paint products you see in the above picture can be purchased from the Art and Soul Studio. #artandsoulstudio

First i used Dina Wakley white gesso through the paper doiley and one of my favourite stencils.

I then used Tim Holtz Distress Stain, old paper. I absolutely love this product. Its extremely versatile and works well on so many surfaces.

Then i used Tim Holtz Distress Paint. Colours (carved pumpkin, mustard seed, tattered rose).
I started by thickly smudging the top of the page with the rose, then tilting it up and dripping water down the page bleeding the paint. I then dried that layer and did the same thing with the pumpkin in a smaller amount of paint. I dried the top of the page but not lower down the page so my top layer of mustard seed would mix with the pumpkin as it bleeds down the page.

Then i used the book pages to clean up any excess paint left from the dripping process and tore it into ribbons. I also cut thin slices of Plasters tape and threads of hessian.

I then glued down the book pages overlapping them across and down the left side of the page. I then drew circles and scribbled encouraging words on and down the book pages. I then used a red pen to roughly trace the edges of the book pages making them pop.

Then i used the strips of plasters tape down the book pages. I then used the left over hessian squares and overlapped them in the top left corner of the page. Before gluing them down i placed these cute leaves and flower stalks arranging them in a fan shape on the page. Then i glued the lot into place.

While waiting for the glue to dry i arranged my pink, grey and brown flowers until i was happy with there layout. I found this butterfly image on one of my kaiserkraft pen and ink (vintage) craft sheets. Also available from the art and soul studio. Before gluing down my butterfly i made a nest out of the hessian threads as a base for the butterfly. I also used shinny paint named Mango Freeze to give the butterfly its colour. I also had this beautiful quote from Kaiserkraft Gypsy Rose sticker sheet. So i used the last few book pages as a base and glued it in the corner.

I then used Deco Art Media crackle paint as a boarder for my journal page. There we go..
I hope my page has inspired you to give it a go....
